Position Summary
Vibliome Therapeutics, a dynamic venture-backed biotechnology company, is a seeking highly motivated, experienced synthetic medicinal chemist to support discovery and lead compound development for its novel kinase inhibitor technology platform.  Join us as we investigate new ways to achieve exquisite selectivity with small molecule kinase inhibitors to treat cancer and immune disorders. 
A motivated and experienced synthetic medicinal chemist is sought who is fluent in the organic synthesis of complex intermediates and small molecules, reaction optimization, compound purification and characterization.  An emphasis will be placed on medicinal chemistry experience, including structure-based hypothesis-driven analog design and multi-dimensional SAR analysis.

Responsibilities (Text Only)

Position Role and Responsibilities
- Design, plan and execute the synthesis of novel small molecules to engage disease modifying targets and contribute decisively to the advancement of drug discovery programs.
- Deliver high laboratory synthetic productivity by employing a broad range of modern organic chemistry techniques and innovative synthetic transformations to inform fast-paced SAR iterations.
- Demonstrated independence in the laboratory, including assembling, using and maintaining laboratory equipment, and in problem solving through careful experiment design, data analysis, and mechanistic insight.
- An excellent team player with ability to communicate synergistically with a multidisciplinary team.  Highly organized with excellent analytical, documentation, time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Remaining current with the latest scientific breakthroughs in the synthetic chemistry field through continued reading of the literature and attendance of scientific conferences.
- From time to time, support analytical chemistry services, method development and sample analysis utilizing HPLC, GC, LCMS, mass spectrometry, NMR, and other analytical techniques.
 

Qualifications (Text Only)

Required Qualifications and Background
- PhD or equivalent (MS with 4-years laboratory experience or a BS with 6-years laboratory experience) in synthetic organic chemistry with small molecule drug discovery experience in academic, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical setting.
- Clear understanding of structural determination using NMR and MS techniques as well as knowledge of related purification methods.
- Consistent track record of accomplishments (e.g., peer-reviewed publications and/or patents).
- Proven communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills and an established ability to multitask and prioritize.
