  • Overview (Text Only)

Vibliome Therapeutics is seeking highly motivated experienced medicinal chemists to advance leads from its novel technology platform for kinase inhibitor discovery.  Motivated synthetic chemists are sought who are fluent in structure guided design methods, data-base mining tools, and classical drug progression criteria to lead and coordinate internal and external chemistry efforts on multiple projects using a common chemistry platform.  An emphasis will be placed on creative problem solving, structure-based hypothesis-driven analog design, and multi-dimensional SAR analysis that leverages Vibliome’s unique discovery platform.

    Responsibilities (Text Only)

    - Analysis of Vibliome’s multi-dimension SAR matrix using structure-guided methods and biological insights to identify unique lead candidates with differentiated activity profiles.
    - Design of follow-up analogs based on Vibliome’s scaffold technology that consistently move identified projects toward drug-like candidates suitable for pre-IND animal studies and beyond.
    - Optimize lead series for potency, selectivity, physiochemical properties, in vitro ADME and PK by coupling multi-dimensional SAR analysis with hypothesis driven medicinal chemistry design principles.  Use sound scientific methods to propose hypotheses and determine next steps even with complex or ambiguous data.
    - Reduce ideas to practice in the lab quickly by effectively employing a broad range of modern organic chemistry methods and innovative synthetic transformations.
    - Supervise junior chemists in synthetic and laboratory methods including compound purification and compound characterization techniques while mentoring them on compound progression tactics and strategies.
    - Synergize with the broader team by communicating results, sharing insights, making plans and setting goals emphasizing quality rather than quantity.
    - Provide medicinal chemistry insight for new target and lead identification based on evolving initiatives in the kinase inhibitor space.
    - Implement and support processes, software and infrastructure to enable a state of the art medicinal chemistry facility.  Contribute to development of new or different technologies for database mining and integrated structure-based design.

    Qualifications (Text Only)

    - M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus on synthetic organic chemistry.
    - 5-15+ years of experience in small molecule drug discovery experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting.
    - Proven track record of success in advancing programs from leads to advanced candidates.
    - Extensive experience lead compound optimization in the areas or potency, selectivity, ADME and PK.
    - Highly versed the all current medicinal chemistry instrumentation: HPLC, LC-MS, NMR and purification systems
    - Expert in using common medicinal chemistry software: electronic notebook, structure drawing, data spreadsheet analysis; data visualization; structure viewing; literature, chemical and database searching.
    - Committed to staying current with the latest scientific breakthroughs in the medicinal chemistry field through continued reading of the literature and attendance of scientific conferences.
    - An excellent team player with ability to communicate synergistically with a multidisciplinary team and be accountable for the medicinal chemistry progress of 2-3 projects. Highly organized with excellent analytical, documentation, time management and multi-tasking skills.
